Mary Weldy

Mary M. Weldy, 98, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, May 16, 2011, at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born August 27, 1912, in Warsaw to the late James Ervin and Rosebell (Saunders) Witham. She married John W. Weldy in Goshen on February 6, 1961. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1991. She is survived by a son, Ervin Lung, Jr. of Elkhart; two step-daughters, Rolene (Charles) Taylor of Goshen and Carol Elder of Syracuse; a step-son, Barry W. Weldy of Shipshewana; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters. A homemaker, Mrs. Weldy attended Solomon Creek United Methodist Church and was a member of Classy Red Hat Society. Friends may call 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 2:00 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Granddaughter, Rev. Carolyn Kern, First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Solomon Creek United Methodist Church.
