Mary Kathryn Stanley

Mary Kathryn Stanley, 95, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away, June 11, 2021, at DePugh Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 19, 1925 in Remington, Indiana, to Blanchard and Kathryn (Griffin) Detrick.

On Feb. 1, 1947 she married Dr. John R. Stanley in Goodland, Indiana.  He died Aug. 30, 1998.

Survivors include four children, Dolores “Dee” (Jack) Hodnett, Fort Mill, South Carolina, David (Susan) Stanley, Maitland, Florida, Daniel (Carol) Stanley, Westerville, Ohio and Dr. Douglas (Kay) Stanley, Goshen; nine grandchildren, Spencer (Stacey) Hodnett, Nick (Linda) Hodnett, Katie (Charles) Nguyen, Elizabeth (Andy) Kress, Mike (Renee) Stanley, Kristin (John) Harris, John Stanley, Megan (Mike) Mioduski and Collin (Laura) Stanley; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stanley graduated from Goodland High School in 1944 and Methodist Hospital Nursing School, Indianapolis in 1946.  She had served as president of Indiana State Medical Association; Women’s Auxiliary Delaware County Council and Muncie City Council.

She enjoyed being with her family.

Private family services will take place in July in Maitland, Florida.
