Mary Jane Showers

Mary Jane Showers, 86, of Goshen, was received into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, February 27, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Center, Milford.
She was born August 12, 1929 in DuBois, Pennsylvania to Merritt C. and Susie A. (Spicher) Bundy.
On December 22, 1951 she married Louis H. Showers in DuBois.
He survives along with four children, Chris Tina (Kim) Hilbish of Greenfield, Faith (Marty) Moser of Ligonier, Rev. Louis H. (Wanita) Showers, IV of Washington and Dr. James A. (Diane) Showers of Woolwich, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Ganger and Jessie (Donald) Patchel and a brother, Allen (Bernice) Bundy, all of DuBois, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mabel Carlson and three brothers, Merritt Cecil Bundy, Jr., Wesley Marc Bundy and Lewis Bundy.
A Goshen resident since 1971, Mary Jane was a pastor’s wife and very active in all church activities. She enjoyed sewing, especially making quilts for her children and grandchildren, and ceramic painting.
She graduated from Sandy Township High School in 1948 and Buffalo Bible Institute, Buffalo, New York. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Goshen and more recently People’s Bible Church. She worked part time as a clerk at the Elkhart County Courthouse for 16 years before retiring in 1992.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church. Goshen. Rev. Louis H. Showers, IV will officiate.
A private graveside service at Benton Lutheran Cemetery will precede the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church, Goshen, Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry or People’s Bible Church.
