Mary Schrock, 82, formerly of Goshen, died Wednesday morning, March 7, 2012, at Valley View Health Care Center where she had been a resident for three years. She was born November 7, 1929 in Middlebury to the late Enos and Mattie (Yoder) Cross. She married Jonas D. Schrock November 25, 1948 in Arthur, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 18, 2011. She is survived by five children, Maxine J. Kurt of Sandy, Utah, Virginia J. (David) Forgey of Elkhart, Kerm G. (Joan) Schrock of Goshen, Ken G. Schrock of Elkhart and Karl G. Schrock of Goshen; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; six siblings, Anna (Irvin) Yoder of Goshen, Rosa (Calvin) Borntrager of Middlebury, Vernon (Arlene) Cross of Goshen, Elmer Cross of Cromwell, Leroy (Esther) Cross and Joe (Alpha) Cross, both of Goshen; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Cross of Middlebury and Beulah Cross of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie Mae Cross and two brothers, Daniel and George Cross. A homemaker and long time area resident, Mrs. Schrock was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church for more than 40 years and an associate member of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Mrs. Schrock enjoyed quilting and gardening. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, funeral service at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Terry Diener will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Christian School or Wycliffe Bible Translators.
