Mary C. Richcreek

Mary C. Richcreek, 87, formerly of Goshen, died late Wednesday morning, July 12, 2006, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, where she had been since June 7, 2006.   She was born January 17, 1919, in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, to the late Henry Dalton Heffner and Margaret Frances Wyland.  On January 25, 1941, she married Devon J. Richcreek.  He died April 5, 1971.   Mrs. Richcreek moved to Goshen when she was 17 and became a U.S. citizen in the 1940’s.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1937.  She loved children and cared for children before working.  She retired from Goshen Rubber in 1989, as an inspector, after 37 years of employment.   Mrs. Richcreek considered her nieces and nephews her grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Devon; a son, Lyle J. Richcreek on March 3, 2002; a brother, Harold Heffner; and four sisters, Bernice Guild, Audrey Livingstone, Irma Poscharscky and Louella Grabill.   Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 14, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006, service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Captain Jason Pollom of the Salvation Army will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army
