Mary Plank, 81, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at The Maples Health Care Campus, 1332 Waterford Circle in Goshen, Indiana from natural causes due to progression of Alzheimer disease. She lived for a few years at Waterford Crossing Apts., 1212 Waterford Circle in Goshen, Indiana. Mary was born June 6, 1928 in Plain City, Ohio to Erwin “Pat” and Anna (Keim) Kauffman. She married John Joseph “Joe” Plank on December 6, 1952. They resided in Arthur, Illinois before moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1976. Joe passed away June, 2006. Mary retired as a licensed practical nurse having worked for many years at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, Sarasota, Florida. She was an artist and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Irene (Richard) Allan of Canby, Oregon, and Ruth (John) Mast of Sarasota, Florida. She is survived by sisters Anna Mae (Hank) Miller of Plain City, Ohio, Helen (Bud) Thurmond of Sarasota, Florida, Jean (Homer) Swartzentruber of Shipshewana, Indiana, Betty (Walter) Silks of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, Carol (Jeff) French of Sarasota, Florida; a brother Ed (Carol) Kauffman of Dublin, Ohio; her daughter Mary Jo (Kerry) Fitzjarrald of Tuscola, Illinois; her sons Richard (Sue) Plank of Goshen, Indiana and Robert (Pam) Plank of Sarasota, Florida; her grandchildren Matt Plank, Tara (Tony) Hartman, Jason (Nichole) Fitzjarrald, Alex Fitzjarrald, Avaliese Plank and Lily Plank; and great-grandchildren Maggie Fitzjarrald and Mason Fitzjarrald Visitation will be at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, Indiana on Monday, February 8 from 2 to 4:00 pm and from 6 to 7:00 pm. A memorial service conducted by Pastor Ron Diener from Pleasant View Mennonite Church will be held at 7:00 pm the same day at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Visitation, memorial service and burial will take place later in the week at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Sarasota, Florida.
