Mary Jo Overpeck

Mary Jo Overpeck, 83, of Wolcottville died Monday, November 4, 2019 at her home.

She was born January 31, 1936 in Romney to Orley and May (Harlan) Winger.

On November 23, 1955 she married John A. Overpeck in Rochester.  He died September 3, 2015.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Kent) Bontreger of Middlebury and Liz (Jim) Stump of Wolcottville; a son, Mike (Tara) Overpeck of Goshen; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dorman Winger of Crawfordsville.

Mary Jo was a 1954 graduate of Alamo High School where she was valedictorian. She worked as the Deputy City Clerk for Topeka before retiring in 2008.  She volunteered at the LaGrange Hospital and was also active in the LaGrange County Council on Aging.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  Her son, Pastor Mike Overpeck will officiate.

A public graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the LaGrange County Council of Aging.
