Mary Ellen Mast

Mary Ellen Mast, 87, of Elkhart passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at her son’s home surrounded by family.

She was born January 29, 1938 in Nappanee to Emanuel L. and Rosa (Hochstetler) Burkholder.

She is survived by four children, Lamar Mast of Elkhart, Howard (Penny) Mast of Adamsville, Tennessee, Lloyd (Bev) Mast of Elkhart and Timothy (Brenda) Mast of Adamsville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy F. Yoder, Laura Mae Helmuth and Tressie Lou Otto.

Mary Ellen was a member of Clinton Frame Church and worked for Essenhaus Inn and Conference Center, Middlebury for many years in various capacities.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, with a soft spot for her cats.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 C.R. 35, Goshen and again on Tuesday, August 19 at the church one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service. Pastor Amos Yoder will officiate.

Following a luncheon, burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, N 700 W & W 850 N, Etna Green.
