Mary Margaret Kauffman

Mary Margaret Kauffman, 82, of Syracuse, and formerly of Goshen, died early Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2007, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse where she had been a resident since November 1, 2007. She was born in Fairview, Michigan, on April l7, 1925, to Noah and Belle (Valentine) Mast.  She married Norman Ray Kauffman on July 10, 1943, in Fairview, Michigan.  He preceded her in death on November 29, 1980. A Goshen resident since 1949, Mrs. Kauffman, worked at Johnson Controls for 40 years, retiring in 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Norene (Jim) Myers of Elkhart; three sons, Cecil Kauffman of Syracuse, Gary (Ina) Kauffman of Goshen and Grover Kauffman of Elkhart; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are eight sisters, Virginia (Gene) Altman, Letha (Milt) Curtis, Carol (Mick) Trader and Gladys Ranger, Beatrice (Erie) Kindy, all of Midland, Michigan, Lottie Hodges of Muskegon Heights, Michigan, Iva Ross of Hudson, Florida and Pat Wilson of Fairview, Michigan; and a brother, Gerald (Doris) Mast of Midland, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; an infant daughter, Roberta in 1946, a brother and two sisters. Friends may call 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007, memorial service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Steve Slagel of East Goshen Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Poseyville Cemetery, Midland, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
