Mary A. Leiter

Mary A. Leiter, 100, of Goshen died Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her daughter’s home on hospice.

She was born November 15, 1924 in Park County, Indiana, one of 13 children born to Fred and Ruby (Ottinger) Murdock. One child died in infancy.

A widow, Mary is survived by five children, Joan Shaffer, Bonnie Mast and Robert Anglemyer, all of Goshen, Stephen (Cindy) Anglemyer of Fort Wayne and H. Scott Leiter of Osceola; nine grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by great-grandchildren, David Anglemyer and Stacey Lynn (Mast) Bird; and siblings, Edna Hoover, Jessie Dove, Violet Rollins, Hester Newnum, Betty Pierson, Helen Murdock, Esther Morland, Ruth Sherman, Maggie Bush, Leonard Murdock and Raymond Murdock.

Mary was a member of LifePoint Church, Goshen and Women of the Moose. She retired from Johnson Controls after working there for 30 years.

Mary enjoyed playing golf when time and health allowed. Her greatest pleasure was time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; playing with puppets, singing and making music together.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 South Main St., Goshen, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Thursday, March 6. Pastor Anthony Cottrell will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
