Mary E. Johnson, 74, of South Bend, died Wednesday evening, September 30, 2015 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart. She was born January 19, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa to John Mast and Alice (Detweiler) Wiederman. On June 6, 1959 she married Larry E. Johnson in Goshen. He died Jan. 2005. She is survived by her children, Cindy Livingston of Pittsboro and Ronald (Carol) Johnson of South Bend; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Carol (Grover) Lockwood of Troy, Montana. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Mast and a grandson, Matthew Sanford. Mary was a member of New Life Christian Center, Bristol. She was a production worker for Midwest Rubber and a clerical worker at Syndicate Store Fixtures before retiring early to care for her ailing husband before his death. Friends may call on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Monday, October 5, 2015 funeral service at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Retired pastor Dwight Gosser will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
