Mary J. Miller, 57, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. She fought a battle against cancer since July. Mary was born July 7, 1957 in Goshen to Ralph and DeVera (Evans) Elmore. On April 12, 1980 she married Lavone Miller at the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. He survives along with two children, Janet (Eric) Larson, Mishawaka and David (Sarah) Miller, South Bend; a granddaughter, Elise Miller; two sisters, Zonea (Gary) Bainter, Bristol and Terri (Randy) Sizemore, New Paris and a brother, Ralph Michael Elmore, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents. A graduate of Goshen High School, Mary worked as a cook at Fairfield High School for 26 years becoming the assistant manager of the cafeteria. She extended her love to all and was a "mother" to many Fairfield students. She was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church since 1993. Friends may call Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be conducted at Nappanee Missionary Church on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Indiana Lions Cancer Control Fund.
