Mary Evelyn Hostetler Mullet

March 11, 1913 — June 5, 2012

Mary Evelyn Hostetler Mullet, 99, of Sarasota, Florida, and formerly of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012, at Sunnyside Village, Sarasota. She was born March 11, 1913, in Elida, Ohio, to Simeon and Lillie (Burkholder) Brenneman. She married Lloyd N. Hostetler June 19, 1940 in Elida, Ohio. He died January 1, 1990. She then Married Henry L. Mullet in Goshen on June 28, 1994. He preceded her in death December 2005. She is survived by three children, Marilyn (Nicholas) Eigsti of Sarasota, Florida, Jean (Daniel) Paschen of Evanston, Illinois, and William Lloyd Hostetler, Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edwin and Robert Brenneman. Mrs. Mullet retired as a 6th grade teacher from Goshen Community Schools in 1976. She also taught at Jimtown 1959-63 and in Gomer, Ohio from 1934-40. A 1959 graduate of Goshen College, she was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen, National Educators' Association, Indiana State Teachers' Association and Retired Teachers of Elkhart County. Friends may call 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2012, at College Mennonite Church where a 4:00 p.m. memorial service will be conducted. Pastor Pamela Yoder will officiate. Family graveside service and burial will be in Violett Cemetery Saturday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lloyd and Evelyn Hostetler Scholarship for Physical Education at Goshen College.
