Mary L. Hoover

Mary L. Hoover, 86, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Harmony of Elkhart.

Mary was born May 30, 1937 to Woodrow Wilson Puckett and Mary Catherine (Colvin) Puckett.

She married Maynard “Jake” Hoover on December 18, 1954, he preceded her in death on December 4, 1965.

Mary is survived by her son, Michael (Dawn) Hoover, Naperville, IL; one granddaughter Christina (Bart) Burkhart; 2 great-grandsons, Lucas and Jonathan Burkhart; and three sisters, Pat (Paul) Cox, Goshen, Margaret (Michael) Romer, Algonquin, IL, and Pam Sheets, Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her long-time special friend, Randy Brogdon, who died on July 19, 2023.

Mary worked as a sales consultant for many years at Macy’s, (formerly Hudson’s).  She attended Wakarusa High School and got married just prior to graduation.

Family and friends may call one hour prior to a 1 p.m. funeral on Monday, May 20, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. and nephew Doug Beutler will officiate.

Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery.
