Mary Helmuth, 94, of Goshen, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare.
She was born November 2, 1921 in Nappanee to John M. and Anna (Miller) Miller.
On August 9, 1947 she married Joseph G. Helmuth in Goshen. He died August 23, 2001.
Survivors include four daughters, Dee (John) Birkey, Carol (Martin) Honderich and Elaine Jarvis, all of Goshen and Dr. Anita (Eli) Showalter of Yakima, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Miller of Ligonier and Lovina “Ina” (Albert) Miller of Niles, Ohio; and two brothers, Noah (Katie) Miller and John J. (Verna) Miller, both of Topeka.
A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Helmuth was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church.
She enjoyed flower gardens, quilt making and crocheting.
She worked in housekeeping at Goshen Hospital for a number of years before retiring.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 5, one hour prior to the 10 a.m., funeral service, all at Waterford Mennonite Church. Velma Swartz, Pastor of Senior Adults, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, Waterford Mennonite Church or Bethany Christian Schools.
