Mary L. Gingerich, age 90, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Courtyard Health Care after a brief illness.
She was born May 10, 1929 in Lagrange County to Levi and Fannie (Beachy) Yoder, the youngest of ten children. On October 7, 1950 she married Moses Gingerich in Nappanee. He died May 8, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Jackie) Gingerich and David (Marge) Gingerich, both of Goshen; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; foster daughter, Rita Tangel, of Manado Sulut, Indonesia, and a sister, Edna Miller of Sturgis Michigan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Benjamin (Anna) Gingerich on September 4, 2002; five brothers, Alvin, Perry, Aaron, Will, and Levi Yoder; and three sisters, Martha Troyer, Erma Troyer, and Barbara Mullet.
She lived her adult life in the Goshen area and cleaned houses as an occupation. She was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church for 56 years. She enjoyed being with family, and helping others.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2020, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 8, at 10 a.m. at Waterford Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Pastors Terry Zehr and Neil Amstutz.
Memorial donations may be directed to Mennonite Central Committee or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
