Mary Etta Cripe, 84, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, June 21, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born in Goshen on January 29, 1927, to the late Fred and Etta Marie (Smith) Arnold. She was married by Rev. Trevor Dillon to Jack G. Cripe on January 11, 1947 at 1st Presbyterian Church, Goshen. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Nancy Jane Cripe (Bill) Everett, Goshen; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ana) Everett, Carmel, Michael (Ashley) Everett, Plymouth, Minn. and Angie (Brett) Sutton, Kingsford, Australia; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Earl, and a brother, Earl Arnold in 1955. A 1945 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Cripe attended Ball State University where she was affiliated with Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church, Goshen, where she served as a deacon. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Order 397 and an honorary member of Psi Iota Xi. She volunteered at Goshen Hospital and as a noon aide for more than 30 years at Model School. She loved being with the children. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, June 27, at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Goshen, with Pastor Alan Griffin officiating. Burial of Mary Etta's cremains will be prior to the memorial service. Memorials may be given to the church.
