Mary Ellen Miller

Mary Ellen Miller, 86, of Elkhart passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Hubbard Hill Healthcare, Elkhart.

Mary was born on March 28, 1940, in Bristol to the late Clare and Iris (Hershberger) Dills. On June 14, 1958, she married Jonas L. Miller at East Goshen Mennonite Church.

A dedicated and hardworking member of her community, Mary served as a custodian at West Side Middle School in Elkhart for 26 years prior to her retirement. She loved sewing, quilting and baking with grandkids.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jim) Steele of Middlebury, IN; her son, Gary (Michelle) Miller of Elkhart, IN; two grandchildren, Nicole (Dustin) Butler and Samantha (Kyle) McCarty; and four great-granddaughters, Madelynn Butler, Alexis Butler, Elizabeth Butler and Scottie McCarty.

She is also survived by three sisters, Anna (Robert) Falconi, Joy Moles and Bonnie (Robert) Null.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Iris Dills, her husband, Jonas L. Miller; and her siblings, John Dills, Michael Dills, William Dills, Richard Dills, Kitty Fink, Betty Dirk, Carol Moles, and Janet Dills.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Clinton Union Cemetery.
