Mary Jane Crabille, 76, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2016, at Elkhart General Hospital where she had been the last 10 days.
She was born July 31, 1939 in Goshen to Herman and Wanda (Bull) Elliott Alwine.
On February 28, 1981 she married Michael Crabille in Goshen.
He survives along with a sister, Victoria (Edward) Diamond and a brother, Robert (Pam) Elliott, both of Goshen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Connie Elliott Blodgett; a brother, Richard Elliott; and a step-father, James Alwine.
A 1957 graduate of Goshen High School, Mary Jane went on to study nursing at St. Mary’s Holy Cross, graduating in 1960. She worked at Riley Hospital, Indianapolis and Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. In Chicago she taught the first paramedics and worked as a transport nurse. She retired from Elkhart General Hospital where she worked in the emergency room and in labor and delivery.
She was a member of LifePoint Church and a founding member of Celiac Sprue Support Group.
Friends may call Friday, July 8, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friends may also visit Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service at LifePoint Church, 1006 South 16th Street, Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Second Chance Small Dog Rescue.
