Mary M. Bartley 78, of Goshen died unexpectedly at her home Wednesday, February 27, 2013 of natural causes. She was born January 1, 1935 in Pikeville, Kentucky, to Jeff and Emma (Justice) Charles. Mary moved to Indiana as a young girl. On July 6, 1957 she married Johnnie Bartley, in Pikeville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by a daughter, Rosa (Tim) Groves; and a son, Mike (Candie) Bartley, both of Goshen; two step-children, Harold (Sandy) Bartley, of Goshen, and Brenda (Mike) Hahn, of Dunlap; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four brothers, Earsil Charles, of Pikeville, Kentucky, Denver (Ruth Ann) Charles, of Syracuse, Douglas (Emma) Charles, of Goshen, and Gary Dean (Charlene) Charles, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille Thacker, and Eddie Marie Charles; and two brothers, Eugene and William Robert Charles. Mary retired from Goshen Rubber where she had worked most of her life. In her earlier years she had worked at Barler's and various other local places. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge where she enjoyed playing bingo and being with friends. A time of visitation is set from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 funeral service will be held. Rev. Joe Wenger of Zion Missionary Church, Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
