Marvin Adkins, 72, of Goshen, passed away at his home Saturday morning, January 2, 2016. He had been ill since March 2015.
He was born June 6, 1943 in Rockhouse, Kentucky, to Bud Adkins and Gertrude Charles.
On August 11, 1979 he married Penny Randolph.
She survives along with seven children, Shelley (Wally) Marker of New Castle, Marvin Lee (Sherry) Adkins, Henry (Melanie) Adkins and Timothy (Pam) Barrick, all of Goshen, Ellie Michelle Adkins of Syracuse and Billie Jo Adkins of Goshen and Daisy Mae Adkins of Syracuse; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy Kinney of Goshen and his beloved dog, Abby Mae.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Wayne Adkins; two grandchildren; and three siblings, Maxine Hopkins, Emogene Adkins and Willard “Junior” Kinney.
Mr. Adkins worked as a press set up operator at Goshen Stamping. He was an Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Goshen DAV. He was an avid fisherman, a Dale Earnhart fan and a very devoted family man.
Friends may call Monday, January 4, 2016, from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Hunn of Jefferson Community Church will officiate.
Cremation at Yoder-Culp Crematory will follow the funeral service.
