Martha “Pat” Oswald, 82, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, February 18, 2007 at Greencroft Gables where she had been since February 12. She was born on September 13, 1924, in Newport, Indiana, to William F. and Mary Ellen (Parker) Crowder. She married Thomas J. Moore on May 26, 1943 in Salem, Arkansas. He died April 22, 1972. She later married John Oswald on January 19, 1985, in Sarasota, Florida. He preceded her in September 1998. Mrs. Oswald graduated from Rosedale High School in 1942. A homemaker and a long time resident of the area, Mrs. Oswald also spent time in Florida. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Goshen and a former member of the Sugar Grove Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Les) Eger of Goshen; a son, Tom (Diana) Moore of French Lick, Indiana; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Thomas P. (Dorothy) Crowder of Ocala, Florida, Charles (Rosie) Crowder of Tuscola, Illinois, Kenneth (Betty) Crowder of South Bend, Indiana, and David (Jean) Crowder of Cincinatti, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Moore and John Oswald; a daughter-in-law, Canda Moore on August 2, 2000; and a brother, Leo Crowder. Friends will be received 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. An 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2007, funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Goshen. Rev. Greggory Lanzen of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Word of Life Ministries of Indiana.
