Martha "Marty" Culp

Martha “Marty” Culp, 70, of Elkhart, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at her home.

She was born July 25, 1947 in Goshen to Warren and Lucy (Swihart) Charlton.

Martha married Robert Culp on Aug. 26, 1967 at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church where they were members.

He survives along with her mother; son Ryan (Jodi) Culp, Elkhart; daughter Carla (Jason) Warren, Goshen; brothers, John Charlton, Goshen, and Tim Charlton, Goshen; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her father; sister Becky Guilliam; and brother Allen Charlton.

Marty’s faith, family and friends were the most important part of her life. She was active in her church and enjoyed playing in the handbell choir. Marty and her husband especially enjoyed being with their family, grandchildren and recently born great-grandson. She loved traveling, eating out with friends and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. She served as a secretary-treasurer at Concord Junior High School for 31 years and was a big supporter of Concord Community Schools and Elkhart Christian Academy.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and Tuesday, Sept. 19, one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. Pastors Bill Richardson and Harold Knight will officiate.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory with burial to follow at Frame/Burkett-Kulp Cemetery, Elkhart.
