Martha L. Cottey, 76, of Elkhart, died Sunday evening, June 7, 2015 at the home of her son. She was born July 4, 1938 in Goshen to Noah C. and Lovina (Miller) Hochstetler. Survivors include four children, Betty (Dean) King of Cincinnati, Ohio, John (Carla) Cottey of Elkhart, Wayne Cottey of Lebanon, Tennessee and Paul (Tom) Smithson of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Amy, Stephanie, Tony, Stacey, Kyle, Blake, Johnathon, Randy, Mark, Nena and Daisy; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Natalie, Hayden, Kylee, Lexi, Kayla, Taytem, Nick , Emma, Jonah, Annabelle and Odyssey; sisters, Barbara Renner and Amanda Arnold, both of Goshen and Fern Neff of New Paris; and brothers, Omer (Nancy) Hochstetler of Middlebury and L. Jake (Jan) Hochstetler of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Randy Cottey; sisters, Katie, Vicki, Shirley and Margaret and brothers, Howard, Floyd, Pete and Harry. She will truly be missed by family and friends and anyone who knows her, especially her children, grandkids and great-grandchildren. She loved to crochet and made many afghans and baby outfits for the new babies in the family. She was a very hard worker and loved being a homemaker and tending garden. She loved flowers, animals and enjoyed the simple things in life. Friends may call Friday, June 12, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the 12, noon funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Isaac Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
