Martha P. Christner, 83, of Goshen, passed away at her home Thursday afternoon August 9, 2012, after an extended illness. She was born October 14, 1928 in Goshen to Samuel and Clara (Harshberger) Leichty. She married Levi "Lee" Christner in Wolcottville. He preceded her in death July 22, 2001. She is survived by two sons, James (Myra) Christner of Syracuse and George (Marcia) Christner of Goshen; three daughters, Mary (David "Trapper") Letherman of Milford, Bonnie Christner of Goshen and Carol (Greg) Hooley of Goshen; six grandchildren, Valerie (Kelly) Anglemyer of Goshen, Rick (Annette) Christner of U.S. Army Fort Riley, Kansas, Ryan (Sara) Christner of Syracuse, Katy (Casey) Fillinger of Perryville, Maryland, Kellie Christner of Goshen and Josh Hooley of Goshen; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Fillinger, Darcy Christner and Aspen Anglemyer; and a brother, Ivan (Wilma) Leichty of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. A homemaker, Mrs. Christner was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making comforters for them. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 12, and 9 to 9:45 a.m., Monday, August 13, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012, funeral service will be held at the church with Pastors Terry Diener and Linda Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
