Marlene Ann Whitehead, 87, of Goshen, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at home.

She was born December 17, 1936, in Goshen to Herbert J. and Wanda L. (Bridinger) Bare.

On November 10, 1956 she married Charles Phillip Whitehead in Goshen.

He survives along with two sons, David (Kim) Whitehead of Goshen and Bradley (Jewel) Whitehead of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Alexander Whitehead of Mishawaka and Tyler Whitehead of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two nieces, Michele (Patrick) Donovan of St. Augustine, Florida and Jana Whitehead of Goshen and a nephew, Michael (Christina) Miller of Tampa, Florida.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Roush and two nephews Gary and Greg Whitehead.

A 1954 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Whitehead worked at Universal for eight years and as a secretary for Goshen Community Schools.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Fish Lake; the Goshen VFW Auxiliary, serving of the board of auxiliary volunteers and Business and Professional Women.  She was a life member of Delta Theta Tau.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Friday, January 26.  Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
