Marlene J. Maurer, 70, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, November 3, 2009, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Crandon, Wisconsin, on July 12, 1939, to the late Beecher and Helen (Harris) Johnson. She married Lawrence M. Maurer on May 4, 1963, in Elkhart. He survives. Mrs. Maurer worked at Elkhart General Hospital for 35 years as a Radiologic Technologist. She retired in 2001. She was an active member of the First Church of God, Goshen, where she volunteered much of her time. Mrs. Maurer enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one Daughter, Julie M. (Chris) Walda, Fort Wayne, Indiana; one Son, Michael S. (Heidi) Maurer, New Paris; one Sister, Maxine Robinson, Goshen; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Edmond Johnson. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, November 7, at the First Church of God, Goshen. An 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009, funeral will be conducted at the First Church of God, Goshen. Reverend Troy Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God.
