She was born July 14, 1956 in Peru to John Stanford and Mary Gwendolyn (Birnell) Anderson.
She is survived by three children, Steward (Meghan) Davis of Sturgis, Michigan, Jessica (Megan) Davis of Warsaw, and Brian Birkey of Corpus Christi, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Makenna, Corbin, Ava, Landon, Bryden, Gavin, Anna, Jeremiah, Braden, Declan, and Bella; two brothers, Kevin (Becky) Anderson, and Wayne (Stephanie) Anderson; five sisters, Terry (Jeff) Abbott, Rhonda (John) Harp, Cheryl (Mike) Sherry, Carol Malott and Ruby (Ron) Patton; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Anderson; a brother-in-law, Jerry Fitzpatrick; and lifelong friends Cathy and Greg Yoder, New Paris.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Anderson, and a sister, Rebecca Fitzpatrick.
Marla was very faith based, she actively participated and volunteered at Goshen City Church of the Brethren, and within the community. She was involved with Stephen Ministry and put everyone else first, even those she hadn’t met.
During her working career she worked in the HR department for Utilimaster and did accounting work for Miller’s Custom Hardwoods.
She really enjoyed 70’s and 80’s rock music, gardening and canning, and baking and cooking with the kids. She was a softball player in her younger years. She also loved to play table games, especially Scrabble and Yahtzee with her family, where she showed them no mercy. She adored her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Private services will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
