Mark Alan Scearse, I

Mark Alan Scearse, I, 49 of Elkhart, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at his home. He was born to Tom and Rosalie (Leatch) Johnson on May 28, 1959 in LaGrange, Indiana. Mr. Scearse was a truck driver owning and operating “Route 66 Classics Plus”. He also worked for Batcher, Kopf and Page Trucking. He was a Teamster; enjoyed his church; good friends; music, NASCAR, and reading his bible. He loved his dog, Jayla, his constant companion. He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Johnson of Elkhart; his father, Tom (Monica) Scearse of Goshen; one daughter, Lindsey Scearse of South Bend; one son, Mark Alan (Jennifer) Scearse, II of Elkhart; one granddaughter, Hannah Scearse, and one grandson, Mark Scearse; two sisters, Trina Kyle of Bristol, and Tracey Underwood of Alabama; three brothers, Tom Scearse, Jr. of South Bend, Bob (Susan) Young of Goshen, and Todd (Sherry) Scearse of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother’s husband, Keith Johnson in 2008. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2009 funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kurtz of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
