Marjorie M. Townsend

Marjorie M. Townsend, 99, died Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Cass County Medical Care Facility.

She was born July 19, 1922 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada to John and Mildred (Thomas) Weiland.

On September 10, 1966 she married Orbie Townsend in Goshen. He died April 16, 2006.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Doug (Sherry) Sayles of Edwardsburg, Michigan; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Weiland of Goshen and a niece Mary Yoder.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, De Ann Witwer and three sisters, Winnifred Hinkson, Shirley Clingerman and Sharon Blosser.

Her working career outside of home included Kroger, Evans Supermarket and the assembly department at Johnson Controls, were she retired from. Marjorie enjoyed many hobbies and crafting.

The family expresses extreme gratitude to the staff at Cass County Medical Care Facility for their loving care of Marjorie the past several years.

Visitation will take place Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Bryon Smith will officiate. A private burial will follow.
