Marjorie I. Groves

Marjorie I. Groves, 97, of Goshen died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born June 15, 1920 in Elkhart County to Clifford and Bertha (Overholser) Culp.

On November 3, 1939 she married Howard P. Groves in Goshen.  He died August 5, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances (Robert) Miller of Carmel and Kathleen (Dan) Seltenright of Goshen; a son, Gordon (Lucille) Groves of Goshen; six grandchildren, Meribethe Lawton, Randall Groves, Carijo West, Susan McKnight, Jeffrey Miller and Jessica Miller-Kirkling; six great-grandchildren, Olivia and Andrew McKnight, Margaret, Charles and Henry Miller, and Freddie Lawton; and two great-great grandchildren, Matthew and Colton Lawton.

Mrs. Groves was a 66-year member of the Lake Grange and Elkhart County Pomona Grange clubs.  She was also a member of the Jefferson Home Ec Club and served on the Elkhart County Fair Board and the Goshen Hospital Auxiliary.

Marjorie was a loving homemaker and excellent baker, receiving many awards for baked goods.  She was a talented seamstress and artist.  She enjoyed reading, crafts, and making braided rugs.

She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Greencroft and Goshen Home Care and Hospice for their excellent care of Marjorie.

Friends may call Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service, Friday, May 18, 2018 also at the funeral home. Rev. Ed Arnold will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
