Mario Carlos Muñoz, 65, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024.

He was born September 12, 1958 in Apan, Hidalgo, Mexico to Erasmo and Consuelo (Figueroa) Muñoz.

He is survived by two sons, Juan C. (Blanca) Muñoz and Jaime (Jennifer) Muñoz, both of Goshen; eight grandchildren, Carlos Enrique, Abigail, Diego Gael, Greenlee Cait, Taavet Maddox, Finnick Preston, Bellamy Anahi and Lorelei Jolene Muñoz and eight siblings, Jorge Muñoz, Miguel Muñoz, Marisol Muñoz, Erasmo Muñoz, Mariano Muñoz, José Muñoz, Martin Muñoz and Alejandro Muñoz, all of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marcela Anaya Muñoz on March 15, 2021.

Mr. Muñoz moved, with his family, to Goshen in 1992.  He enjoyed hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.  He was well known for his delicious “barbacoa”, a traditional dish from his hometown.  He was a very kind man.  He had many friends and did not let language barriers come between them.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial donations may be given to Heart to Heart Hospice.

Mario Carlos Muñoz, de 65 años, de Goshen, falleció el sábado 4 de mayo de 2024.

Nació el 12 de septiembre de 1958 en Apan, Hidalgo, México, hijo de Erasmo y Consuelo (Figueroa) Muñoz.

Le sobreviven dos hijos, Juan C. (Blanca) Muñoz and Jaime (Jennifer) Muñoz, de Goshen; ocho nietos, Carlos Enrique, Abigail, Diego Gael, Greenlee Cait, Taavet Maddox, Finnick Preston, Bellamy Anahi y Lorelei Jolene Muñoz y ocho hermanos, Jorge Muñoz, Miguel Muñoz, Marisol Muñoz, Erasmo Muñoz, Mariano Muñoz, José Muñoz, Martin Muñoz and Alejandro Muñoz, todos de México.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y su esposa, Marcela Anaya Muñoz el 15 de marzo de 2021

El Sr. Muñoz se mudó con su familia a Goshen en 1992. Le gustaba cazar, viajar y pasar tiempo con su familia. Era muy conocido por su deliciosa barbacoa, un plato tradicional de su ciudad natal. Era un hombre muy amable. Tenía muchos amigos y no dejó que las barreras del idioma se interpusieran entre ellos.

Era miembro de la Iglesia Católica San Juan Evangelista.

El velorio será el miércoles 8 de mayo de 2024, de las 16 a 20 horas. con un Rosario a las 19 horas en la funeraria Yoder-Culp.

Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre el jueves 9 de mayo a las 10 horas en la iglesia católica St. John the Evangelist.

El sepelio será en el cementerio Sugar Grove, Goshen.

Se pueden realizar donaciones conmemorativas a Heart to Heart Hospice.
