Marilyn J. Woofter, 91, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born March 15, 1931 in Baldwin, West Virginia, to Glenn and Eva (Garrett) Black.
Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Donna (Edward) Thomas of Raleigh, North Carolina and Lori (Roger) Peachey of Winona Lake; five grandchildren, René (Josh) Brown, Ryan (Jessica) Peachey, Jenni Levine, Alan (Jenae) Peachey and Kevin (Kelsey) Peachey; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Boggs of Toronto, Ohio and Glenda (Curtis) Fleshman of Morehead City, North Carolina and a brother, Gerald (Mary Jane) Black of Purcellville, Virginia.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Woofter in 2003.
Mrs. Woofter was a home economics teacher for many years in the Champion, Ohio area. She was a member of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church and the 4-H Busy Bees Homemakers Extension Club, Goshen.
She loved to care for her family.
Visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2022at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service. Pastor Ben Bouwman will officiate.
Memorial donations may be given to Goshen Hospice and Home Care.
