Marilyn J. Gouker, 76, of Goshen, died Monday morning, December 27, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born April 24, 1934 in Paw Paw, Michigan to the late John and Helen (Swinehart) Canen. Surviving are a daughter, Becky Gouker of Elkhart; three sons, Steve and Tim Gouker, both of Elkhart and Mark Gouker of Colorado; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Vera (Norm) Reynolds of Goshen; a brother, Bob (Bea) Canen of Laredo, Texas; and a brother-in-law, Carl Letner of White Pigeon, Michigan. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Caryl Canen and Ida May Letner; and a brother, Jack Canen. A homemaker, she had worked at McDonald’s in Elkhart, and in housekeeping at the Elkhart Clinic. She was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren. Friends may call 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010, at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen, where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted with Norm Reynolds and Pastor Stan Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorials may be given to Goshen General Hospital for breast cancer research.
