Marilyn Ayotte Duckworth, 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 14 at Greencroft Healthcare with family by her side.
She was born Dec. 18, 1938 in Port Huron, Michigan to Gordon and Marguerite (Chambers) Ayotte. Marilyn graduated from Springport High School in 1956. She then married Delmar Duckworth on Jan. 10, 1959 in Port Huron, Michigan.
She is survived by four children, Theadore (Mary Janisse) Duckworth, Mancelona, Michigan, Patrick (Gwen) Duckworth, Goshen, Michele (Shelly) Duckworth of Henderson, Nevada and Eric Duckworth, Mason, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Ashley Duckworth, California, Aaron Duckworth, Michigan, Nicholas Temple, Nevada, Ryan Duckworth, Indiana, Laura (Jonathan) Pritchett, Guam , Amber Duckworth, Michigan, Megan Duckworth , Indiana and Karson Swiszowski, Michigan; a former daughter-in-law, Rechele Duckworth; a sister, Kathy (Terry) Hillger; brothers Robert Ayotte and Danny (Brenda) Ayotte both of Texas, George (Heather) Ayotte, California and Christopher Ayotte, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary Ayotte, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delmar Duckworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy (Mike) Zahnow, Barb (Milo "Curly") Crawford and Mary (Don) Calhoun; a brother, Jerry (Santa) Ayotte; an infant brother, Ronald Ayotte; and sisters-in-law, Grace Ayotte, Sandy Ayotte and Nancy Ayotte.
Marilyn was a very active lady throughout her whole life. She was a go getter and nothing stopped her from accomplishing her goal. She was full of zest, spunk and determination.
She served as the Director of the Senior Center of the Oscoda County Council on Aging; Government Affairs and Tourism at the Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, Nevada and personal assistant to the Lieutenant governor of Nevada. She was an active community leader and a member of the following organizations; State of Michigan PTA committee, Comins Restoration Association, Ausable Valley Nursing Home, Oscoda County Planning Commission, Strategic Planning committee for the City of Las Vegas.
She thoroughly enjoyed crocheting, camping, traveling, playing games, visiting with seniors and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Clinton Frame Church where an 11 a.m. Saturday Celebration of Life Service will be held. Per COVID guidelines face masks are recommended.
Memorial donations may be given to Clinton Frame Brotherhood Fund or Clinton Frame Women’s Sewing Group.
