Marilyn Jean Depue

Marilyn Jean DePue, 84, of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2014, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She had been in failing health the past three years. She was born November 4, 1929 in Emma to Earl and Kathryn (Miller) Bender. On January 25, 1948 she married Donald W. DePue in Shipshewana. He survives along with two children, Stephen (Judy) DePue of Goshen and Judith (Rick) Liebespach of Valrico, Florida; three granddaughters, Monique Arritt, Vanessa DePue and Beth Hyers; two great-grandsons, Corbin and Josiah Arritt; and two sisters, Lauretta Nelson of Gainesville, Florida and Minerva Belote of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Malcolm Bender. A 1947 graduate of Shipshewana High School, Mrs. DePue, along with her husband farmed in the Brighton area for 60 years. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed flower, vegetable and herb gardening and traveling. She was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren and a former member of English Prairie Church of the Brethren. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A 10 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, funeral service will be conducted at West Goshen Church of the Brethren. Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate. Burial will follow at Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
