Marilyn S. Cobb

January 23, 1934 — July 21, 2017

 Marilyn S. Cobb, 83, of New Paris, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born January 23, 1934 in Brazil, Indiana to Thomas and Ermal (Boyd) Matthews.

On July 7, 1963 she married James W. Cobb in New Paris.

He survives along with a sister, Joy Sanger of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Matthews and a sister, Joan Egolf.

Marilyn graduated from Indiana State Teacher’s College and taught in Shipshewana, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., school systems.  She was a part owner of Concord World Travel in Nappanee, Elkhart and Kendallville, and WLRX radio station, Nappanee.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, followed by a graveside service at New Paris Cemetery, New Paris.

A memorial service will also be conducted Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa in the gathering room with visitation beginning one hour prior.  Rev. Douglas Cripe, First Christian Church, Elkhart, Marilyn’s nephew, will officiate.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Goshen Home Care & Hospice.
