Marietta Kauffmann, 95, of Goshen died Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. She was born October 11, 1919 in Tremont, Illinois to August and Dorothy (Neuswanger) Barth. On December 9, 1943 she married Melvin L. Kauffmann in Peoria, Illinois. He died December 12, 2009. She is survived by four sons, Duane (Dottie) Kauffmann of Goshen, Donald (Wanda) Kauffmann of Pine Mountain, Georgia, Keith (Kathleen) Kauffmann of Oregon, Illinois, and Galen (Cynthia) Kauffmann of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Barth of Morton, Illinois, and Benjamin Barth of Ellenton, Florida. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis D. Kauffmann, a sister, Darlene Kaeb, and three brothers, John, Melvin and Orville Barth. An area resident since 2003, Mrs. Kauffmann was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing; crocheting over 2000 caps for needy children. She was a former member of Hopedale Mennonite Church, Hopedale, Ill., and current member of College Mennonite Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Rachel Nafziger Hartzler of College Mennonite Church and Greencroft Chaplain Randy Roth will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to the College Mennonite Church Jubilee Fund.
