Marie E. Waugaman, 97, of Goshen, died at her home early Sunday morning, October 16, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born May 20, 1914 in New Paris to the late Clarence Milo and Emma C. (Fuller) Troup. She married Hubert N. Waugaman on December 29, 1939, in New Paris. He passed away August 7, 2001. Mrs. Waugaman is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Lanny) Kistler of Goshen; four grandchildren, Lora (Gary) Zimmerman of Goshen, Tonya (Jeff) Abshire of Goshen, Amber (Matt) Huber of Indianapolis and Mark (Brenna) Davis of Syracuse; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ardis Troup and Lucile Sechrist; and two brothers, Kenneth and Ralph Troup. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of Jefferson Brethren Church, Goshen. A 1932 graduate of New Paris High School, Mrs. Waugaman, along with her husband, owned and operated Waugaman Realty. A seamstress, she made custom draperies. Friends may call 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Ron Spyker of Jefferson Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Jefferson Brethren Church or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
