Marie Bontrager, 88, of Goshen, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at her home. She had been ill the last five months. She was born December 23, 1921, in Shipshewana to George and Celstia (Miller) Mishler. On March 12, 1955, she married Leroy Bontrager in Shipshewana. He died February 5, 2005. Mrs. Bontrager is survived by a son, Dennis L. (Susan) Bontrager, and two daughters, Janet (Steve) Lantz and Jane (Mike) Bontrager, all of Goshen; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Wilbur (Ellen) Mishler of Shipshewana. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Mishler. A member of the Clinton Brick Mennonite Church and homemaker, she baked for the Northridge High School cafeteria. She retired from Artisian Interiors of Middlebury. An avid quilter, Mrs. Bontrager loved to bake and lived for her family. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 1, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service on Friday, April 2, 2010, at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W 100 N, Shipshewana. Pastors Ron Guengerich and Ron Kennel will officiate. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
