Marianne Metzler, 87, of Goshen died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born February 23, 1930 in Goshen to George and Beulah Garner.
On January 8, 1946 she married Donald L. Metzler in Gulfport, Mississippi. He died September 29, 1996.
She is survived by five children, Donna Kay (Joe) Hibschman of Syracuse, Sharon (Charles) Adcock of Lagro, Richard E. Metzler of Goshen, Georgia Ann (Marc) Gouin of Middlebury, and Cathy Sue (Douglas) Wehrwein of Englewood, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Randall Metzler, a brother, George Garner, and a sister, Arliss Sheler.
A nursing graduate of Southwestern Michigan University, she worked as a registered nurse at Goshen Hospital. She also worked for Miles Laboratories and Ronald Sherck, D.D.S.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Elkhart, a queen mother of the Greencroft Red Hat Society, and enjoyed the group of retired nurses she would meet with regularly.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 funeral service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3415 Pleasant Plain Ave, Elkhart. Bishop Chester Gibson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery, Elkhart.
