Marianne K. Hardies, 73, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, August 25, 2015 at Elkhart Hospice House after a one year illness. She was born April 22, 1942 in Syracuse, New York to T. Henry and Mary (Kelpy) Knowles. Surviving is a son Thomas (Erin) Hardies of Burr Ridge, Illinois, and four grandchildren, Jill, Ann, Kate and Tess. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Thomas Knowles and a daughter, Karen Hardies Bucko. A local resident since 1975, moving here from Stevensville, Mich., she co-owned Bontrager-Hardies Realty until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen and was a past president and board member of Goshen Hospital and Health Care Foundation. She was also a former member of the Goshen Noon Kiwanis Club and served as a board member of CAPS until Sept. of 2014. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. Rev. Alan Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to CAPS or the Center for Hospice Care.
