Mariana Mccue Hussey

May 7, 1922 — April 29, 2009

Mariana McCue Hussey, 86, of Goshen passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born to Dr. Francis J. and Eloise (Perkins) McCue on May 7, 1922, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She married Edward James Hussey on December 1, 1945, in Hudson, Michigan.  He survives. Mariana graduated from Saint Joseph’s Academy in Adrian, Michigan and Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan.  She worked for the civilian war board during World War II, and was an elementary school teacher.  She was a member of Saint John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church of Goshen.  Mrs. Hussey enjoyed her many grandchildren and loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs. She is survived by her husband;  five daughters, Nancy (Thomas) Parrish of Elkhart, Indiana, Mary (James) Noone of Rydal, Pennsylvania, Kathleen Amato of Evanston, Illinois, Maureen Key of Lake Forest, Illinois, and Mariana (Kevin) O’Rear of Granger, Indiana; four sons, Edward Joseph (Sue) Hussey of Valparaiso, Indiana, Michael (Elna) Hussey of Goshen, Daniel (Kathy) Hussey of Burr Ridge, Illinois, and John (Terry) Hussey of Goshen; 40 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dr. Francis “Bud” McCue; and one son-in-law, Robert Key. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A Rosary service will follow at 7 p.m. An 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Saint John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church of Goshen with Father Christopher Smith and Father John Delaney officiating. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery of Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or to Goshen Salvation Army.
