Marian Ruth Siebert Age 89 was born in Peoria, Illinois to Earl & Bertha (Hand) Leasure on September 23, 1935. She passed away at the Great River Medical Center Hospice located in Burlington, Iowa.
She first married Donald K. Knopp and then had two daughters, Debra and Wanda. Donald preceded Marian in death in 2018. She then married Jesse J. Carnes, and together they had MaryAnn Borden. Jesse preceded her in death in 1986. She then met Dellferd (Dell) Siebert in California in 1982, and they enjoyed many years together until his passing in 1997.
She had attended GHS in Gulfport, Illinois, and CC where she studied Accounting. During her working years, she was employed at Ordinance Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Iowa, National Semiconductor in Sunnyvale California, and Ghirardelli’s in Oakland, California, and then in Linn Martins in Hayward, California where she retired from in 1994. She remained busy with all her grandchildren and hobbies, sewing, making blankets for her kids, and quilting at 80 years old to make a quilt for her great-granddaughter Bobbie! Marian loved baking homemade bread and made the best gigantic cinnamon rolls. She also enjoyed watching western movies, especially “The Rifleman.”
Surviving are her daughters Debra M. (Knopp) Day of Fremont, California, Wanda S. (Knopp) Vierra of Burlington, Iowa, MaryAnn (David) Borden of Industry, Illinois, son Paul (Deb) Carnes of Oquawka, Illinois, her beloved grandchildren John L Arguello Jr. Waterloo, Iowa, Mark R Hyder Fremont, California, Joshua L. Borden Industry, Ill., Kathryn A Borden Manteca, California, Paul L.T Carnes, Leslie Carnes, Cassie (Jason) Jern, one great-granddaughter Bobbie Rivera, nieces and nephews, Donald L Leasure Jr of Oakdale, California, Sheryl Breedlove & Tina ( Rick ) Watson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Theresa (James) Price of Wetumka, Oklahoma.
Services were held at Prugh Funeral Home, Burlington, Iowa, and was laid to rest at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Private memorial services at West Goshen Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana will be held at a later date.
