Marian Ruth Long, 90, of Millersburg, died Wednesday morning, March 28, 2012, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing where she had been since December 30. She was born April 16, 1921, in Benton Township, Elkhart County, to Everett and Elizabeth (Werker) Zollinger. She married Franklin Long November 23, 1941 in Kendallville. He died February 25, 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Rita Elaine Szikszai of Millersburg, and Anita (William) Barlow of Goshen; a granddaughter, Angelia Szikszai of Orlando, Florida; and a brother, Adrian (Barbara) Zollinger of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arlin Zollinger. A lifelong area resident and 1939 graduate of Millersburg High School, Mrs. Long was a member of People's Bible Church, Benton. As the oldest attendee, she regularly attended the Juday Elementary School reunions. She was also a longtime volunteer at Loveway and had the distinction of being among their first volunteers. Mrs. Long had worked at Goshen Rubber, CTS, Carriage and Coachman. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, April 1, Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012, funeral service will be held. Pastor John Randolph will officiate. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Loveway or Elkhart County Humane Society.
