Maria "Mateta" Nieves De Quiroz

Maria “Mateta” Nieves De Quiroz, 78, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born October 15, 1939 in Zinaapecuaro, Michoacan, Mexico to Jesus Nieves and Teresa Luna.

Survivors include eight children, Mariana Quiroz, Sonia Armbruster, Mara Delia Quiroz, Marissa Aguilar, Mariah Abramson, Estela Valladares, Iliana Quiroz and Jose Luis Quiroz; a granddaughter, Julisa Quiroz; a grandson, Alexander Quiroz; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Adella Nieves Luna and Nicolasa Garcia and a brother, Manuel Nieves Luna.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elvia Quiroz; a brother, Jose Nieves Luna and a sister, Aurelia Nieves Luna.

A Goshen resident since 2006, Mrs. Quiroz attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Friends may call Monday, January 8, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 7:30 rosary will be recited.

A 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, funeral mass will be held at St. John’s.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
