Marguerite "Geri" Russell Bradford, 87, of Goshen, died Monday evening, July 23, 2007, at her home. She was born in Hoopeston, Illinois, on April 29, 1920, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Frederick) Fitzgerald. She married Grover "Mack" Russell on October 15, 1944, in Hoopeston. He died in 1973. On June 1, 1985, she married Joseph P. Bradford in Goshen. He preceded her in 1998. A homemaker and a resident of the area since 1955, Mrs. Bradford was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, where she participated in a Bible Study group. She was an avid reader and conversationalist. She enjoyed bridge, crossword puzzles and current events. In the past years she has been involved in a variety of community organizations including the Beacon Lights Club, Tri-Kappa and Psi Otes. She was actively involved in Juniper Place events since moving there seven years ago. Mrs. Bradford is survived by twin daughters, Jill Wagner of Fort Wayne and Joan Simmerman of Greenville, South Carolina; four sons, Larry (Mary) Russell of Lawton, Iowa, Tom (Christa) Russell of Indianapolis, Ron (Iris) Russell of Huntington, West Virginia and Tim Russell of Visalia, California; a step-daughter, Jane (Randy) Doster of Anderson, Indiana; a step-son, Dan (Sue) Bradford of Carmel, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. Rev. Alan Griffin will officiate. There will be a private family burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, prior to the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church or Mozart Elementary School in Chicago to promote reading for inner city children.
