Margie V. Putman, 95, of Goshen passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
She was born March 2, 1922 in Goshen to Artie and Lena (Weybright) Berkey.
On Oct. 11, 1942 she married Howard Putman at Rock Run Church of the Brethren, Goshen. He died April 13, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina (Greg) Stump of Goshen and Dana Putman of Vevay; a son, Roger (Nalini) Putman of Milton, Florida; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Opal Cripe and Jerusha Berkey.
Mrs. Putman was a member of Zion Community Church where she led the children’s choir for many years. She had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed singing whenever she could.
She was also a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxillary. She enjoyed leading Brownie and Girl Scout troops and volunteering at the Indiana Cutting Room in Millersburg and Goshen Hospital.
Margie and Howard enjoyed their time in Mesa, Arizona where they wintered for several years.
Friends may call Sunday, April 2, 2016 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 funeral will be conducted at the funeral home. Pastor Chris Howell of Zion Community Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
