Margie L. Pletcher

Margie L. Pletcher, 74, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, May 29, 2007, at Greencroft Healthcare.  She had been in failing health the past four years. She was born in Perryton, Texas, on November 13, 1932, to Byron Raikes and Gordie (Taliaferro) Pletcher.   A 1954 Goshen College graduate and a 1964, University of Northern Colorado graduate, Miss Pletcher taught elementary school for 35 years at Harrison Township, Nappanee Elementary and Parkside Elementary.   A member of College Mennonite Church, she founded “Shout for Joy”, a children’s choir; and sang in church and community choirs.   She is survived by two sisters, Wilma Srof of Goshen and Juanita Dietz of Fort Benton, Montana; and a brother, B.R. (Janice) Pletcher, Jr. of Perryton, Texas.   She was preceded in death by an adopted daughter, Wanda G. Guice in 1992.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 1, in the Koinania Room at the College Mennonite Church, Goshen.   A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007, memorial service will be held at College Mennonite Church.   Memorial contributions may be given to Heifer Project International or Goshen College Music Department.
