Margaret V. Troup

Margaret V. Troup, 94, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, April 6, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital.  She had been in declining health. She was born on January 22, 1916, in North Liberty, to Chester and Agda (Strom) Mitchell.  She married Leonard DeWitt Troup on august 31, 1947 in Goshen.  He died September 13, 1992. A homemaker, Mrs. Troup graduated from Goshen High School in 1934 and later from International Business College, Fort Wayne. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen; and the Business and Professional Women’s Club.  She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, reading and playing bridge at Greencroft. She is survived by a son, David (Jane) Troup of Goshen; a daughter, Catherine (Bill) Harris of Munster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Agda Farber of Goshen; and a brother, F. Paul Mitchell of Fort Myers, Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mitchell. Friends may call 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 8, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen, with Pastor John Hickey officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Greencroft Foundation.
